The beaches

On the Var side

If you like coves and beaches with character, welcome to the Var! We quote the names of our favorite beaches among the closest to Chez Carla:

Agay beach, a beautiful red sand beach in Agay Bay
the landing beach, also known as the beach of the Ile d'Or, in Dramont. Covered with magnificent pebbles, it faces the Golden Island (which inspired Hergé's Black Island)! It is one of the few beaches on the French Riviera with tables in the shade of pine trees. During the summer season, these places are taken by storm so you'll have to be there early! You can take the opportunity either to make a cultural visit in the footsteps of the quarries of the Dramont a few hundred meters from the beach, or to do some water activities.

Here, there are more large white sand beaches... As this is not what we prefer, we let you discover our selection:

the beach of the Château de la Napoule, which has the particularity of being at the foot of the castle. Here you can enjoy the shade offered by the walls and take a short walk along the coast to the next beaches.
the beach of the port of La Rague which opens onto a breathtaking view of the Lérins Islands, the bay of Cannes and Théoule. It is the cove of Baïa plage that seems the most pleasant to us.
Fon Marina beach is the beach behind the Pullman hotel in Mandelieu. Its main advantage is its location: you can walk along the banks of the Siagne, reach the beach on foot, go around the hotel and continue along the wall to the main road. It's a very pleasant ride, even with a stroller!
