The revenue from the tourist tax is used to finance part of the expenses necessary for the development, tourism promotion and animation of the municipality. It thus indirectly benefits local economic actors.
The tourist tax is mandatory. It is paid by any person not domiciled in the territory of the municipality, who is a customer of tourist accommodation, i.e. a tourist hotel, a tourist residence, a furnished tourist accommodation, a holiday village, a bed and breakfast, a camping and caravan site or any other outdoor accommodation site.
The people exempt from the tourist tax are:
minors,
Seasonal workers employed in the municipality with an employment contract,
People benefiting from emergency accommodation or temporary rehousing,
People occupying premises during their stay whose rent is less than €1 per day. Thus, only people who are accommodated free of charge are exempt from the tax.
The tourist tax is collected all year round by accommodation providers, hoteliers, owners or other intermediaries, who then pay it to the municipality.
If you have booked Chez Carla through a platform (such as Booking, AirBnB, Greengo, Gîte de France, etc.), the latter has already made you pay this tax and is responsible for paying it directly to the municipality.
In case you have booked directly via our website chezcarle-gite.com, you must pay us this tax no later than the day of your arrival. We pay all the taxes collected to the municipality, once a quarter.
The tourist tax is due per person per night. The amount varies according to the type of accommodation (hotel, furnished tourist accommodation, campsite, etc.) and whether or not the accommodation is classified.
Chez Carla is a 2-star furnished tourist accommodation. The amount of the tax for this accommodation in 2024 is €1.34/person/night.
